Anya made a turkey silhouette from a black trash bag, and we glued (rubber cemented) it to our holiday IBC. The solar LEDs inside will illuminate it tonight. I think the turkey turned out wonderfully – she asked me a few times if I’d know it was a turkey. But, once we saw it on the plastic square, she loved it too.
We are using the cage from an IBC tote for firewood, so there’s a spare large plastic square. We got some RGB solar lights to put inside & cut out shapes from a black plastic garbage bag. The shapes are adhered to the tote with rubber cement. When lit up, we’ve got a jack-o-lantern.
We got a bunch of IBC totes for the price of a single one … storing water during the extra-wet parts of the year should let us get through the extra-dry parts without drawing on the ground water for crops. But the totes also glow in a very cool way when there’s a light source behind or inside of them. These would make pretty cool decorations! (and then I discovered that illuminated IBC tote walls are absolutely a thing someone else discovered)
