{"id":656,"date":"2016-12-03T08:14:15","date_gmt":"2016-12-03T13:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lisa.rushworth.us\/?p=656"},"modified":"2016-12-03T16:24:03","modified_gmt":"2016-12-03T21:24:03","slug":"art-smock-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/?p=656","title":{"rendered":"Art Smock!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anya&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/lisa.rushworth.us\/?p=633\">art smock<\/a> is finally done! \u00a0One yard of the laminated fabric (54&#8243; wide) was enough for the interior of her <a href=\"http:\/\/lisa.rushworth.us\/?p=440\">owl backpack<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0and this smock. I learnt to fold bias tape properly &#8212; unfortunately too late for\u00a0<em>this<\/em> project. I had always seen it folded very carefully in half and then each raw edge folded in half toward the middle. You actually want one side to be a little longer than the other. The\u00a0shorter side is stitched to the front of the fabric, folded over the raw edge, and then you top-stitch\u00a0<em>just<\/em> off of the edge of the bias tape (and since the portion on the back is a little bit wider,\u00a0these stitches catch the back of the fabric. The top-stitching is barely visible (depending on how well you can sew along a defined line).
