A few years ago, I made a dandelion soap that we&#8217;re still using. She wants to make more this year since we&#8217;re running out. We started the oil infusion for the soap, and she wanted to collect more dandelions. I&#8217;ve seen a lot of recipes for dandelion lotion\/salve &#8230; so we made some. While the oil infusion for the soap is just dandelion heads in coconut oil sitting on the heater vent in a sunny window for a few weeks, I wanted to make the salve <em>today<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We combined the coconut oil and dandelion flowers in a pot and simmered it over low heat for an hour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/?attachment_id=6268\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6268\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6268\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_20200411_163458.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_20200411_163458.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_20200411_163458-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_20200411_163458-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_20200411_163458-750x563.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Filter the plant material out of the oil and return it to the pot. I added a little bit of beeswax and a few tablespoons of cocoa butter and heated again to melt the additions.
