And if you start your presentation before sharing the application, participants don\u2019t even watch you click around opening the presentation and starting the slide show. But did you know Teams has special functions <em>just<\/em> for sharing PowerPoint presentations?<\/p>\n<p>Once you have joined a meeting, select the \u201cSharing Tray\u201d from the meeting control bar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"155\" class=\"wp-image-4829\" src=\"http:\/\/lisa.rushworth.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image.png 525w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image-300x89.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click \u201cBrowse\u201d next to PowerPoint and select the source of your presentation \u2013 this can be a PowerPoint File you\u2019ve already shared to the Teams space, one stored on OneDrive, or a file uploaded from your local computer.<\/p>\n<p>If you chose to upload a presentation, it will be placed in a location where participants can access it \u2013 the channel\u2019s Files section in the case of channel meetings, and your OneDrive (with appropriate permissions added) in the case of private meetings. While this eliminates having to send the presentation to participants after the call, it also means that <em>anything<\/em> in the file is available to meeting participants. But you <em>cannot<\/em> currently restrict who is able to take control of your presentation. A RFE has been submitted to Microsoft to <a href=\"https:\/\/microsoftteams.uservoice.com\/forums\/555103-public\/suggestions\/34861783-ability-to-set-who-can-take-control-of-powerpoint\">either restrict who is allowed to take control or use requests instead<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1283\" height=\"55\" class=\"wp-image-4832\" src=\"http:\/\/lisa.rushworth.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image-3.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image-3.png 1283w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image-3-300x13.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image-3-768x33.png 768w, https:\/\/www.rushworth.us\/lisa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/word-image-3-1024x44.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1283px) 100vw, 1283px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t want people to ruin the surprise (or if you want to ensure participants are focused on the slide being discussed), you can prevent participants from navigating the slideshow on their own.
