Not just the usual hat\/gloves\/scarf &#8212; that&#8217;s a good way to\u00a0<em>hate<\/em> winter. Layers are a good start &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wintersilks.blair.com\/t\/silk-long-underwear\/long-underwear-for-women\/heavyweight\/pc\/195\/c\/384\/200.uts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heavy weight silk base layer<\/a>\u00a0under any type of regular shirt\/slacks. Top that all with Berne <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berneouterwear.com\/berne\/ladiesdarkbrownwashedinsulatedbiboverall.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insulated bib overalls<\/a> along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berneouterwear.com\/berne\/ladiesdarkbrownwashedactivejacket.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">matching coat<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carhartt.com\/products\/carhartt-accessories-socks-cold-weather-heavy\/Sweater-Top-Tonal-Pattern-Wool-Boot-Sock-WA468\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thick wool socks<\/a> from Carhartt and regular waterproof hiking boots. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rei.com\/rei-garage\/product\/107115\/rawik-mogul-ii-insulated-gloves-womens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gloves with insulation<\/a> even in the fingers; and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.evo.com\/balaclavas\/blackstrap-the-hood#image=83998\/539925\/blackstrap-the-hood-space-cadet-galaxy.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lightweight, breathable balaclava<\/a>\u00a0under the hat\/scarf.<\/p>\n<p>Shoveling the driveway at eight degrees isn&#8217;t the most fun I&#8217;ve ever had, but I was perfectly warm. Well, right up until my nose got drippy &#8230; that&#8217;s a heap of unpleasant and time to go back inside. Luckily I was 98% through with shoveling at that point &#8230; figure I&#8217;ll toss the shovel in the car and get the last little bit at the bottom as we head out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I finally have enough cold-weather clothing to enjoy winter.
